Effective Protective Action Timeframes
Key Protective Actions for saving lives and preventing injuries are in two phases: before and during. Protective Actions to take before the event include signing up for active shooter and first aid training, being aware and reporting the signs and clues for potential violent behavior, developing a plan of response if needed, and maintaining situational awareness. Protective Actions to take during the event include using one or more of the following: run, hide, and fight.
